We’ve held a “Han Yu Xing汉(hàn)语(yǔ)行(xíng)” Chinese Proficiency Competition on September 19^th, 2011. It’s sponsored by PublicChinese Language Center, which is affiliated with the School of Foreign Languages, Sun Yat-Sen University.

Through the foreign students’ speaking abilities, the “Han Yu Xing” competition aims to invite all who are interested in the Chinese language and China in general, to arouse their enthusiasm and improve their confidence in learning Chinese, to strengthen the world’s understanding of Chinese language and culture.

“Han Yu Xing” Chinese Proficiency Competition is held twice a year. The competitors are foreign students at PublicChinese. The contents of the competition include Chinese language proficiency, Chinese cultural skills, comprehensive learning abilities and a talent show.

Ⅰ What is “Han Yu Xing汉(hàn)语(yǔ)行(xíng)”

“行(xíng)” is a very interesting word. It has different pronunciation, each pronunciation has different meanings. Such as when it is read as “xíng”, has the meaning as: walk, go; and ok, good. When it is read as “háng”, the meaning could be expert.  

“Han Yu Xing汉(hàn)语(yǔ)行(xíng)” means to use Chinese during your journeys, be in the cities or at countries. Learning and practicing your Chinese and gain wonderful experiences. Yes, you can do it!

Chinese:

汉语(hànyǔ)行(xíng)，行走(xíngzǒu)在(zài)大街(dàjiē)之上(zhīshàng)、穿梭(chuānsuō)在(zài)城市(chéngshì)之间(zhījiān)、跨越(kuàyuè)世界(shìjiè)各国(gèguó)之(zhī)时(shí)，边(biān)走边(zǒubiān)学(xué)、边学边(biānxuébiān)用(yòng)，展示(zhǎnshì)所(suǒ)学(xué)，学(xué)出(chū)滋味(zīwèi)，感受(gǎnshòu)乐趣(lèqù)。动(dòng)起来(qǐlái)吧(ba)！学(xué)汉语(hànyǔ)，行(xíng)天下(tiānxià)，你(nǐ)也(yě)行(xíng)！下(xià)一(yí)个(ge)汉(hàn)语(yǔ)行(háng)家(jiā)就(jiù)是(shì)你(nǐ)！
