China's most famous martial-arts novelist Louis Cha has released his first collection of essays after ten years of silence.

The "Louis Cha Essay Collection" collates classic articles the writer published in a variety of newspapers and magazines in the past 60 years.

The collection includes more than 100 musings, travelogues, and critiques of films, dramas, musicals and operas. A number of articles also relate Cha's experiences creating martial-arts novels.

The 82-year-old author revised the 4-million-word plus tome three times before the Writers Publishing House published it.

Hong Kong-based Louis Cha is famed for his contemporary kung fu novels. A number of his works have been adapted to the big screen, including "The Legend of The Condor Heroes," "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils " and "The Book and the Sword".
